How to restore Civil Society

Take a quick look at the link below - it is certainly food for thought.  Libraries are about SO much more than just a collection of books and magazines.  Today they are truly more about people and communities.
Of course, they always have been, but in today's 'disconnected' world, they have the capacity to bring people and communities together - and in many ways, they offer a quiet haven in place of the hustle and bustle of today's uncaring world.
And while 'disconnected' may seem like the wrong term - I do truly mean it.  Everyone is so 'connected' that they have no idea how to connect - with family, friends, people and community.

Celebrating 30 years!

Tennant Creek High School is 30 years old today!!

The time capsules from 10 years and 21 years have been dug up so as to be able to display their contents - and another one is being made ready for this celebration. There is a big display up in the PAC and posters of interviews with past students, along the lines of what they remember and where they are now.

The community has been invited in to help us enjoy the party and celebrate the history and we are looking forward to many more years to come.

Happy Birthday Tennant Creek High School!
